Symbian version 9.5 released

Version 9.5 of Symbian is officially out now. The operating system for handsets recieved a facelift improving performance for future devices.
The new version will extend battery life, use memory more efficiently, allow and simplify the use of push-email and VoIP (you’ll even be able to make VoIP calls while doing other things over the IP protocol, such as surfing or streaming video) over WiFi and improve support for filetransfers and syncronisations over WLAN.

CTIA – The Wireless Association announced today that wireless data service revenues for 2006 rose to $15.2 billion. This represents a 77% increase over 2005, when data revenue was $8.6 billion Data revenue represents money that wireless carriers earn on services other than voice. Wireless data revenues now total roughly 13% of all wireless service revenues.

Nokia 5700 XpressMusic

Nokia announced earlier the Nokia 57000 ExpressMusic handset, an average music focused device aiming for the younger users, supporting MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA formats, stereo speakers, 2.5mm audio jack and supporting microSD cards up to 2Gb. It has the same twist function as the earlier 3250 and runs the S60 3rd edition Symbian OS.
