Nokia confirms N95 short supply

Distributors in the UK are already concerned that the demand for the Nokia N95 is stronger than the supply, according to Mobile Today UK.
A Nokia spokesman said We are aware that demand is high and we’re doing everything we can to ensure our production ramp is as fast as possible. Initially there is going to be a shortage as with any popular product. We’ve tried to do our best to make the UK market in particular gets a good supply.
Demand for the handset is already outweighing supply, one distribution source told Mobile Today. Another was worried that they would not receive the number they had so far requested. What we order and what we get are often two different things, he said.
Many distributors have said that their initial allocations will be going straight into the channel, many to fulfill back orders. Dealers across UK reports that they already have lists of eager customers awaiting the device. ‘I’m expecting five in from 20:20 this week and all of them will be going straight to waiting customers,’ said one London dealer.
The N95 is expected to be in UK stores from 1 April.
