Nokia N95 in UK shops

Mobile Today wrote earlier that the precious Nokia N95 will hit the stores this weekend!

According to them The Carphone Warehouse UK (in Sweden known as The Phone House) has confirmed they’ll start selling the phone this Sunday. Orange UK says the N95 is the third most viewed handset on their website, despite only being listed in the “Coming soon” section. “We’re expecting to see a high level of consumer demand once it is launched“, said a spokeswoman.

As mentioned earlier , the market already expects a shortage in N95 devices because of high demand. After the initial speculations, a Nokia spokesmen confirmed our fears saying there would be a temporary supply shortage “as with any popular product“.

I’m a big fan of conspiracies, trying to see beyond. This might be a possible way of how things are; Nokia has known about the shortage for a long time and deliberately chosen to use the free publicity to create more attention for the N95. Ever since Steve Jobs announced the Apple iPhone Nokia interaction designers must have been under alot of pressure. Not only do they have to compete with the iPhone, they have to make up for mistakes done on earlier Nseries handsets. Everything has to be perfect.
