April 9, 2007 by Dario Soltani

A new Xbox 360 is coming and it will go by the name of “Elite”. According to Engadget The Xbox 360 Elite will come in limited quantities, and the device, controls and live headsets will all be black and come in a new packaging. All hardware developed for the Elite device will be compatible with the Xbox Premium. Elite estimatily ships this late summer or fall and comes with 120GB HD and HDMI.
The Elite models runs cooler but will not come with the new 65nm chip. It also wont have built in support for WiFi nor will it come with a HD DVD drive. The price will be around $479.
I would like to quote kingofwale, an Engadget reader, “Advantage Xbox Elite: bigger harddrive, $20 less. Advantage Sony PS2: 20GB HD, Blu-Ray Player“.
He’s got a good point there, the Play Station 3 might be a better choice. You get a Blu-Ray drive, a better controller, access to lots of games, and you don’t have to wait for this thing to come out.
