More images on the Nokia N95 8Gb!

July 9, 2007 by Dario Soltani

I’ve found some more images on the black Nokia N95 which I wrote about earlier. Various forums are running hot with discussion about if this is a photoshoped phone or the real deal. My opinion is that this in fact IS A REAL and soon to come Nokia N95 with a 8Gb microSDHC card (also known as M2 cards). As SanDisk earlier announced, the 8Gb memory cards will be released to manufacturers and retailers "later in 2007".

Update! Read the update on the 8gb nokia n95 post!

Retail release of the cards and availability to phone manufacturers and network operators are planned for later in 2007. Pricing has not yet been determined. "With these new cards, any mobile phone with a compatible microSDHC slot will have just as much storage as the largest-capacity iPhone," said Jeff Kost, vice president and general manager of the Mobile Consumer Solutions division at SanDisk. "What’s more, removable cards make it easy to share content you create with friends, ’sideload’ files from a computer, and add more storage simply by purchasing more cards. By offering capacities of 6GB and 8GB, SanDisk is poised to enable people to enjoy more photos, more map data for navigation, more videos, more games and more music, wherever they go, on any phone with a compatible microSDHC slot."

What’s even more interesting is Jeff Kost’s announcement indicating that these new memory cards will make new mobile devices capable of competing with iPhone market shares. This is of course very interesting news for Nokia and I’m pretty sure the developers at Nokia already have samples of the 8Gb cards for testing and evaluation.
