US 3G Nokia N95 soon to come!
August 13, 2007 by Dario Soltani
Ricky and Darla got the latest scoops on a new and upgraded Nokia N95 for the US market.
- This new model will support US 3G – HSDPA 850/1900 allowing speeds up to 3.6mbps (aka. "turbo 3G"). Currently AT&T supports this speed, while T-mobile’s planned 3G network will not. It also supports EDGE, for those of you not using AT&T. (It does not support 2100 HSDPA for you people traveling overseas).
- It also comes with a great battery upgrade (wtf, European customers wants this too Nokia!) to 1200mAh with the BL-6F battery, meaning the dimensions of the device have also changed.
- Rumor is that it’ll ship with a 1Gb MicroSD card (?with support up to 8Gb?)
- The backside is black (and perhaps Mocha)!
- The multimedia keys will be padded.
- The camera shutter has been removed.
- The screen might be bigger (not confirmed yet).
- Also the RAM have been upgraded to 128Mb meaning no more restarts and memory out messages!
- The release date will be sometime near the end of Q4, first unlocked with the possibility of going to AT&T sometime in Q1 08 (thanks for the info Darla).
