Information on the Nokia N95 8Gb leaked from FCC

August 23, 2007 by Dario Soltani

New information on the Nokia N95 8Gb edition has leaked from the FCC website (US regulator). Some hardware changes can be seen (pretty much the same as the Nokia N95 US edition) including:

  • A new back section where the camera lens cover has been removed to allow for a bigger battery.
  • Also the slide media keys are now slightly raised.
  • The phone itself is black and the Nokia logo has been moved to below the display.
  • The softkeys and directional controls seems smaller than the N95 classic suggesting a larger screen or a slightly smaller device (or possibly just a design tweak).
  • Direct access to the Nokia Music Store (likely part of the forthcoming Nokia announcement) in which you can search for, browse and purchase music. It’s likely to use Windows Media Player as the syncing tool to get music from your PC to your phone.
  • The Multimedia menu screen has been reworked into a different style as seen in the screenshot below.
  • The Nokia N95 8GB is compatible with the N-Gage Gaming experience and comes with one of two applications: either Discover N-Gage or N-Gage?
  • A mass memory application has been included used to manage the 8GB internal memory.

It is likely that the N95 8GB will be announced at Nokia forthcoming launch event in London on the 29th August. I can’t wait to review this one!

You can find the FCC report here and the manual here.
