I have just updated the software on both my E65 and E90. I backed everything up first and ran the update. Now I cannot connect to the internet by any method, even wifi will not work. I have requested settings from o2 but the text message will not open, telling me a "message format not supported" and inputing them manually doesn't cure it. Neither can I send or receive mms messages. Phone calls and sms work fine but I have even got a new sim from o2 to try to correct the fault but to no avail. It's weird that both phones should have the same fault but I cant figure out what has happened. Any ideas?

I checking my Mobile NOKIA E90 show current 7.40.1.2. So NOKIA Update Phone software said "Update is 7.40.1.2."

I thought, I saw the NOKIA website show update a new latest is 400.34.93 firmware.

I think something wrong a "NOKIA Update Phone software" may lack design ???

it would be nice if the software warned that it would wipe out everything on the phone and make the phone as if it were new. Yes they do mention that it is best to back up. I would have definitely if they simply added "because we throw EVERYTHING away"!

Or, if I were on development at Nokia, would have given the option to save all settings, in which all my stuff (calender, contacts, notes, etc) would have been copied to the PC, and then returned to phone after the update.

I have just about had it with my E90...
I have had communicators since James Bond used the first communicator (Nokia 9000) to drive his Beemer. I thought: "Awesuuuuum" and got one. It was great.
* The 9000i was also great - a few nice improvements on the 9000.
* The 9110 and 9000i were a bit of a rip-off as it was basically a lighter, slimmer version of the 9000i with no real improvements other than the screen backlight.
* The 9210 and 9210i were fabulous, except for not having GPRS/ EDGE. However, user friendliness was at an all-time high - easy and very quick searches (for instance, it could search through names, street addresses and company name - something the mighty E90 can't do)
* 9300 keyboard was too small for my liking - never got one
* 9500 had a pathetic camera, decided to wait for the supposedly awesome new E90
* E90 has some nice features, but the things that irritate me the most are:
- can't do alphabetic searches in File manager (i.e. type the first few letters & it jumps to the files beginning with those letters)
- can't search by Company/ Street address etc in Contacts
- "Search" feature in QuickOffice is useless - it takes mine about ten minutes (!!!) to search for a contact
- can't copy/ paste from SMS to Word
- Auto cAPs sOmeTimeS really screws around, and you can't turn it off.
- Nokia doesn't care - I've spoken to them and they make out as if it's my fault & I'm stupid, e-mails go unanswered. Time to stop buying their rubbish until they get back in there with a phone as user friendly as the 9210i, as sturdy as the 9000 (mind you, the E90 is quite sturdy) and with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a modern phone, and above all, good reception, good voice quality and a clear speaker phone.

After updating software for E90 make sure to deactivate settings (remove tick) as an option when restoring infomation that was backed up before the update, otherwise the firmware update would corrupt the OS.
