The message is: N81 feels plastic!

Steve at AAS published a review on the Nokia N81 today. He seems very disappointed with the build quality of the N81.
"I really wanted to like the Nokia N81 - there’s a lot here to like, from the superb music handling to the Wi-Fi to the gaming keys to the solid chassis. But then the designers went and spoiled things by putting in tacky plastic front and back covers, a stupidly low-spec camera for such an expensive device and hiding one of the unique selling points, the naviwheel functionality, inside a Settings menu that no real world user will find." - Steve Litchfield
I’m thinking this is history repeating itself, we had the same quality problems with the N95 "Classic". We all recall the loose slider and many of us wanted a solid metal cover. I believe Nokia has intentionally made this phone plastic, first of all because they don’t want the N81 to compete with the N95 8GB. Second reason is because it’s aimed to gaming teenagers who just don’t care, they change their devices at least once a year. The most obvious reason is of course to cut costs. Now - the real question is will Nokia make something about the plastic feeling? They just might make a N81 16GB haha
I’m still sure the N81 will become a huge sale success as it’s gaming features appeal to many youngsters.
