How to: Upgrade your Nokia N95 (classic, US or 8GB) firmware

This guide has been entirely rewritten in 2008-01-11. New adjustments have been made to make the guide compatible with all N95 versions out there such as the N95-1 (classic), N95-2 (8GB), N95-3 (North American aka. US) and the coming N95-4? (8GB US).

So whats a firmware anyway?

In general a firmware is usually a computer program that is embedded in a hardware device. A firmware is somewhere between hardware and software. Like software, it is a computer program which is executed by a computer. But it is also an intimate and vital part of a piece of hardware, and has little meaning outside of that particular hardware.


In practical terms, firmware updates can improve the performance and reliability of a device, indeed even the basic available functionality of a device, and many devices benefit from regular firmware updates. - Wikipedia on firmware

 

In English this means the firmware is your mobile device’s operating software. It’s the software that is embedded in the memory of your device and includes applications such as the calendar and the phonebook. This is similar to the operating system software on your PC (Windows). User data such as contacts, photos, messages, and add-on applications such as Java games or Symbian applications are not part of the device firmware.

What are the benefits of updating my firmware?

The benefits of updating the device firmware include getting new features, applications, and performance improvements to your device. The benefits differ in each firmware update. To know the exact benefits try to do a web search on ‘changelog’ and the firmware version you consider updating to, something like ‘changelog v.15 n95 8gb‘ on Google would result in relevant information on what benefits you would get by updating your Nokia N95 8GB to the 15.0.015 version firmware.

Will I lose any user data if I update my device firmware?

User data (contacts, photos, messages and files) and add-on applications such as Java games or Symbian applications will likely be deleted during the software update. It is therefore strongly recommended that you make a back-up of data such as contacts, messages, and images before updating the mobile device firmware. When performing the update, and your device requires a data backup, the application will instruct you how to perform the back-up.

Note: Nokia device firmware cannot be downgraded. Once you have upgraded your device, you will not be able to restore to the earlier version.

How to back-up my user data?

There are several methods of backing-up user data. The most common one is Nokia’s solution which includes making a copy of your phones memory and later restoring this. In my experience, this does not work very well always as a new firmware can include systems changes which a restoration can collide with. If you are lucky you will not experience any of this, however if you are not so lucky you might experience some applications and games need re-installation and decreased performance.

I find it safer to back-up data manually by copying files to my PC using normal data-transfers and storing contacts using synchronization. This method of course has it’s limitations as no license information can be stored. Hopefully in the future Nokia will add functionality for users to select what they want to back-up using the Nokia PC Suite.

Here are some traditional back-up methods:

  • You can back-up your device memory data to your device memory card or to your PC using Nokia PC Suite. The software will guide you through the process.
  • To backup phone memory to your memory card:

    1. Select Tools > Memory from the main menu
    2. Select Options > Backup phone mem.
  • To restore data from memory card to phone memory:
     
    1. Select Tools > Memory from the main menu
    2. Select Options > Restore from card

How do I update my firmware?

Note: Nokia device firmware cannot be downgraded. Once you have upgraded your device, you will not be able to restore to the earlier version. You can however re-install the same firmware version as you’re already running as many times as you want (which sometimes can cure back-up restoration problems).

Alright, this is what you need to do to update your firmware:

  1. Back-up data

    Your personal data such as images, messages and contacts are stored in your phones memory and they’ll much likely BE DELETED during the firmware update. I’ve described the back-up process in the ‘How to back-up my user data?’ section above. 

    Make sure you remove your memory card during the upgrade process (if you have any).

  2. Download and install Nokia Software Updater

    To upgrade your firmware you need to download and install the Nokia Software Updater, also referred to as the NSU. 

    Visit the download section and click on the green download button. The installation file is about 15MB and compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista.

    Some people report problems when installing other languages than their Windows installation, so you might want to download the appropriate language (links found below the green download button).

  3. Charge your battery

    Make sure your battery has full power before starting the update process. Running out of battery during the update can seriously harm your phone, likely causing it not to start up.

  4. Connect your phone to your PC

    Next you’ll need to connect your phone to your PC, this is relatively easy. Use the USB cable and connect one end in your phone and the other in one of your PC’s USB ports.

  5. Launch the Nokia Software Updater

    The NSU will try to determine whether or not your phone has the latest firmware by checking it’s so called ‘product code’. The product code depends on which region the phone was bought and/or if it is branded. Normally the latest firmware is first released to the phones with the EURO1 product code. Other regions receive the update over time and branded phones are usually the last (if ever) to get the latest firmware versions. 

    If an upgrade is available everything should be cool, the NSU will guide you through the installation. The process will take several minutes to complete and may cause your phones screen to flicker or go black. Your phone may also restart. In either case, NEVER play with the phones buttons or slider etc. during the update process as this seriously can harm your phone likely causing it not to start. Just leave it be until the update process is finished.

    No upgrades available? No worries, just continue reading!

  6. Restore data (optional)

    Follow the instructions found in ‘How do I back-up my user data?’ above to restore the data you’ve backed-up.

How do I change product code?

If the NSU indicates there are no updates available and you already know an updated firmware version has been released (by reading SimplySymbian.com or any other Symbian community website), you might want to consider changing the product code to be able to download and install the latest firmware. 

NOTE: Changing product code on your device will void your warranty! If you don’t want to void your warranty, just be patient and hopefully you’ll be able to upgrade your phone in time.

Once again, the product code depends on which region the phone was bought and/or if it’s branded. Normally the latest firmware is first released to the EURO1 regions (see below). Other regions receive the update over time and branded phones are usually the last (if ever) to get the latest firmware versions.

firmware using the Nemesis Service Suit

This is what you’ll need to do to change your product code:

  1. The Nemesis Service Suit is basically the software you use to change the product code. It’s a 3rd party application and not a Nokia product. Download and install Nemesis Service Suite also referred to as the NSS. The download is about 6.3MB and works in Windows envieroments (anyone tried it with Windows 2000 or Windows Vista? Please tell us if it works or not).Make sure you select virtual USB during the installation process.
  2. Once you’ve installed the NSS, start the application and scan for new devices by clicking on the top right icon (the magnifying glass).
  3. Next click on the phone info icon.
  4. Click on the read icon to get the current product code, you might want to write this down if you want to change it back (and increase chance of succeeding in future warranty issues) once you’re done with the update.
  5. Now simply change the product code to whatever code you desire, remember normally the firmware updates are first released to the EURO1 region. A list of product codes are found at the bottom of this guide.
  6. Enable the product code to be saved by checking (clicking) on the product code radio button.
  7. Click write and you are done. Now you can try to update the firmware following the instruction in the ‘How do I update my firmware?’ section.

Hopefully you’re done now! Good luck with your updated phone! To make sure your phone is really updated type *#0000# when in idle screen and check the software version. One word of warning, never try to downgrade a Nokia phone. You WILL brick your phone.

How can I check my device model number?

If you are unsure of your Nokia device model number, you can check it easily by turning your device off and then removing the battery. The model number is printed on the white label underneath and can be found next to MODEL.

How can I check for new firmware software?

To find out if new software is available for your particular device model, you need to know your device product number.
  1. Turn the Nokia device off
  2. Remove the battery from your Nokia device to read the 7-digit product code located on the white label.
  3. Check if new software is available for your device at Nokia’s website.

Nokia produces many different variants of each product (for different countries and languages) and not all variants have the latest Nokia device firmware.

Will the warranty be void if I update my Nokia device firmware using Nokia Software Updater?

No, it will not.

How I can be sure that all my Digital Right Management (DRM) protected content will work after updating my device firmware?

To ensure that DRM-protected content will work after the software update in the device, follow these recommendations:

  • Use Nokia PC Suite to backup the device memory and use either Mass storage or Media player to transfer your content. There are two memory locations in the device, the internal memory and hard disk drive/memory card.
  • You may also have to refresh the music library after starting the device.
  • Note: Windows Media DRM protected content cannot be backed up and restored with this method but will have to be resynchronised with the PC to work again. Depending on the content subscription, additional rights may have to be retrieved from the content provider.

How long does the update take?

Downloading the Nokia Software Updater installation package takes approximately 5 minutes over broadband. Installation takes another 2 minutes, plus PC restart time. Memory card backup takes approximately 2 minutes and updates take approximately 20 minutes. Restoring the memory card and rebooting the device take another 2 minutes, so the total estimated time is around 30 minutes.

Can I undo the update or downgrade my Nokia device firmware?

No. Nokia devices and Nokia device firmware cannot be downgraded. Once you have upgraded your device, you will not be able to restore it to the earlier version.

Can I use Nokia Software Updater with a Mac running OSX?

Microsoft Windows 2000 (SP4 or later), Microsoft Windows XP (SP1 or SP2) or Microsoft Windows Vista (Home, Professional and 64bit) are supported. Nokia Software Updater does not work with Windows Media Centre, Mac, or Linux operating systems.

How do I restore factory settings?

If you encounter problems during the installation, restoring the factory settings for your device might help. Type *#7370# when in idle screen. You will now be asked for a security/lock code.

Please use the security code supplied with your mobile phone sales package (the default code is 12345), if you’ve changed the security code use the code you changed to. Please note that if you restore factory settings, you may have to reset some phone preferences.

    I did everything exactly as described, but it still doesn’t work. I tried to install EURO 3, with polisk, but after updaing there are only two languages available ;/ only english and german. Before updating I had 6, so there’s nothing apart from loss… I tried both EURO’s 3, but it’s the same with both. Do you know how to el me??

    Maybe you should try with EURO2. I’ve had people from poland saying the use EURO2 and some say they use EURO3.

    help :( i have a problem updating my firmware. i have full battery and everything and when i run NSU it detects my phone, detects a new firmware, downloads all 100megs of it, after a bit my phone freezes and ask me to take out the battery and charger, put it back in, and try to update using phone recovery. i do that and it continues to give me the same error! HELP

    :( Sadly yes, I’ve already tried restoring it to factory settings that way, sorry I didn’t mention that before. I’ve also tried selecting mass storage when prompted, selecting pc suite, not selecting anything at all. All the same result. I’ve tried different usb ports, tried using another computer, same thing. And when I tried using that program that could change my product code, it detected my phone but when I clicked the ‘read’ icon it said it couldn’t detect my phone anymore. lol. HELP :’(

    What firmware version are you running now and what did you run before you tried to upgrade? (*#0000#)

    Whats your product code? (check under battery).

    Did the error message say "Lost connection to the phone", "Take out the battery then click on Retry again"?

    And the error message that came up from the NSU stated to take out the battery and charger, then plug it back, turn it on, and continue running the update on recovery mode, which i did, but it still continued to give me the same message repeatedly.

    Hey Steven. Did you buy that phone in the Nokia Store in NYC? In that case go back with it and they will repair it for you. Your product code indicates you have an unlocked New York model. I can only confirm that an update is available for that product code and that the update has worked good for lot’s of other people with the same product code as yours.

    If that won’t work, I would try to change the product code once again.

    You need 3 bits of software installed
    1. PC Suite - to back things up/restore them. eg address books etc. This also installs DRIVERS which might be needed. Get the latest
    version from the Nokia Site.

    Then be patient while it does the install - it does take time and does
    restart the phone several times - as I’ve pointed out on numerous
    occasions - DONT PANIC if the phone restarts several times - this is
    normal.

    AHHHHH i changed the product code to 0536062 and it still gives me the same error message!
    and i didn’t buy the phone from the nokia store in NY, i’m in ontario, Canada. :(
    the message that pops up is

    2. Insert battery and connect charger.
    3. Press the phone’s power button for a few seconds. Click ‘Retry’ to continue with phone recovery.

    Well Steven, then I recommend you change your product code back to what it was (otherwise you’re warranty will become void) and return it to your retailer/nearest Nokia supplier for further assistanse Smiley.

    I’ve searched the Internet and found a few articles describing the same problem that you have on Howardsforums. (try googling 0548763 n95. I think the solution is beyond modifications and software settings. :(

    Steven, I’ve had the same problem everytime I tried to update my firmware…basicially i changed my usb ports and it worked :)
    I think when the update initiates, it will disconnect the USB connection from the phone and if the everything goes well then the USB connection should restart again automatically…
    but one of my USB ports (on my monitor) does not seem to allow me to restart the USB connection, hence for the error you described above…
    so try a different USB port (pref..direct connection to the PC)

    Thank you guys, after a long hassle where i thought i had lost my bank wire transfer i got my fone today i got it with the singapore code, wind up memorizing every word written on this site and and the youtube demo (althought is is missing at least anorter minute or two at the end.

    i live in istrael and although my mother tongue is english many people send me hebrew text messages - i don’t mind at all that my keyboards don’t show hebrew letters, I don’t type anything in hebrew, but i needed the ability to read the messages and some internet sites.

    I followed this to the letter and now i’ve got my hebrew support up and running only one question = is there any difference between the two hebrew support files (one for sand and the other for plum) i would tend to believe this a double waste, then again, i am not known to be well versed in phone hacking.

    Thank you - follow the instruction post on July 3 2007 - and there’s no way you can wrong - advice from a lucky person with 10 thumbs.
    Thanks guys, only thing missing for me are local middle east maps to go along question - i have a pile of games that i use in my PDA Dell Exim x50 (?) is there any chance i can transfer them to the Nokia, i kinda grown happy with them pls let me know

    Hi Ness. I find it cool you managed to get hebrew letters (which btw looks really cool, almost like it was from some other planet lol) by reading my articles hehe. I would never have thought of that myself (I only use english and swedish letters).

    I’ve never checked if there is a difference between the two different product codes. It’s probably minimal if any and it’s more likely they have different product codes depending on colors just for the sake of keeping them apart.

    Rumors are the N95’s might have slightly different hardware components, depending on the manufacturing factories (and perhaps the supply of components in different regions of the world?).

    These rumors started with the v.12 firmware update as users whom had changed their product codes (in order to make the update before it was officially released in their own region) experienced different problems while some people experienced no problems.

    I don’t think this rumor is true though, as it would raise the costs for Nokia, forcing them to develop tailor made firmwares for all the product codes out there.

    About your Dell Axim (not Exim??) X50, it runs Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition OS, I checked the specifications here. Your Nokia N95 runs Symbian S60 3rd edition OS. These are two totally different operating systems and I’m sorry to say they are in no way compatible with each other.

    BUT, the game publishers might also have released those games you have on your Dell PDA for Symbian OS. Check the games, you should find web page addresses to the games, where you can check if they’re available for Symbian.

    hey steven, if you still haven’t gone around you firmware update issue,  this is what fixed it for me.
    Have your AC adapter/charger connected, WHETHER your phone is fully charged or not.
    I don’t know exactly why but I remember working with portable computers before and they need the ac adapter connected everytime I do BIOS updates.
    But anyways, hope that does it for you. enjoy your n95

    hello all,
    just want to say thank you to everyone who’s been trying to help me, especially dario :)
    BUT, i have tried everything left right and centre, you name it i did it. Spoke to a Nokia rep, and they said send the phone in. (now the v12 update is already out for my NY code and it still didn’t work). So i went to the retailer and they said they would try to get one of their technicians to fix it, if not i’ll be sending my phone in :( will keep you updated, but thank you so much!

    Does anyone have a problem with voice command using a bluetooth?
    Every time I’ve tried using it since I’ve upgraded to V12. My N95 reboots to default nokia screen as if I have turned it off. On a good note though, I have notice that the phone is faster. GPS takes about 4min to locate instead of 7min. Wifi is greater on staying connected. While surfing the web pages they load up at least three times faster. These are a few good points but this BT issue seems like a Bug. I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced?

    My original code is 0548986. I’ve seemed to have fixed my problem with the BT rebooting my N95. What I did was go into the voice command settings and removed voice adapts. and restored orignal settings. I also turned off the synthesiser then turned it back on. I gave it a try and it seemed to be off a little on the commands but after playing with it for a little bit it’s back to how it was prior to the upgrade, working great. I now can say I’m absolutly satisfied with this upgrade everythings working better.

    Update GPS location time tested again. I went to maps press GPS location and I was found in 30 seconds! I’m not sure if this had anything to do with me using the GPS earlier, more satellites in the area or what but I’m very impressed! Compare to the 6 or 7 mins I had to wait before this is like broadband road runner compared to dial up!

    hello all
    well Dario, when i spoke with nokia the only advice they could give was to hard reset and if it didn’t work send it in. i took it to the store where i bought it and they wanted their own technician to look at it, though i told them i’m sure they couldn’t fix it (seeing in how the entire world wide web has been working on it lol). after a day i called them and so it’s settled:
    my phone isn’t fixable.
    lol. it’s being sent to nokia as we speak, either to see if nokia’s technicians can fix it otherwise i get a brand spanking new one :)

    - Nokia N95 I had problems with my USB that was disconnecting when I tried to upgrade the firmware. The get the weels spinning I had to close the Nokia software running in the tray, that did the trick./ Johan

    i FINALLY got my N95 back today. :( they didn’t give me a new one :P but they fixed it. i’m not sure what nokia did, but they fixed it. What was odd was that the phone came back in chinese instead of english and they only updated from v10 to v11. i had to come home and update to v12 myself. and it worked flawlessly, without having ot change the product code. i’m not sure if my product code is the same, but i will check later on today as nemisis is on the other computer. again, i want to say thank you to everyone for their help!

    Steven: If you want to use the built in Nokia Maps application:

    - Normal GPSing is free

    - You have to pay to use the VOICE navigation (turn by turn), specific detailed city-guides and map downloads (if you don’t download them to your memory card with your PC first and then put your memory card in the phone, this of course also applies to WLAN).

    - If you use the A-GPS function (which enables faster positioning etc) you will have to pay a small data transfer fee (about 5kb data for every lock).

    Now, what do you mean how do I set it up..? Whats the problem?

    Hi,Thanxs for the solution.I did exactly what was written here,Everything went fine.My phone got updated and I restored my backupfile.But then my phone started acting weired once it restarted after restoring the backup.I restarted my mobile again and this is what i get "Phone start-up failed.Contact the retailer". I Upgraded from version 11 to 12 . My product code was 0548773,i changed it to 0536062 What do you think happened and what should i do now . Should i restore my product code again and contact the retailer or  is there a work around ?

    I tried updating my n95 last night. the battery was well charged, and i started the process. It started off well, detecting the current v10 needed to be upgraded to v12, but as it was taking a long time downloading the updates over my slow internet, I left it running. When I came back after an hour or so, the updater said it had successfully updated my phone.But now, the phone does not start. Nothing. When i push the power button, it vibrates, and the screen lights up. Thats it. After a while, the keypad’s lights go off, and then the phone’s out again. I never get a menu, or options, or any detection by PC if I connect with USB cable. Nothing!! Am i really screwed, or is there a way to save my phone!?? Somebody Please Help!!! :(

    Guys, Just some extra info i picked up after i got a startup failed error.. Like a few of the guys here i restored a backup after updating to 12.  This seems to be incompatible and kills the phone… You can do a factory reset by switching off the phone, pressing green 3 *  while switching phone back on. This brought my phone back to life… Luckily i had a backup of all my contacts etc on my computer and just re-sync to the phone after setting it back up. Caveman

    You cant brick the N95, if it wont start follow the steps below:
    press:* 3 Green-call-button, hold them all down and start your phone. When your phone gets to the menu release the * 3 green-call-button. This will reset your phone. It will not restore your previous firmware version.

    I’ve always thought this could possible mess up the running firmware version, making the phone useless until some officials repair the phone?

    My experience with upgrading N92 firmware:
    Upgrade failed with Dell laptop (many times), more precisely Nokia Software Updater failed to detect connected phone model and other details. Changing USB port didn’t help in my case. It was successful on an old desktop PC. In my opinion it might be problem with type of USB on laptop and PC or with some of installed software. I have the same antivirus on both computers so it probably is not issue. For now it seems that everything is fine with new version of firmware. I have to say that Assisted GPS helped to have faster positioning and it seems more accurate then earlier.

    my n95 re-boots everytime i slide it open, i have to wait for the restart, then when i close it it does works fine, then when i slide it open, it re-boots again.

    Hi Jamie… It sounds like you have some memory issues. Try to shut down some of your applications. If you can, delete everything and see if the phone still has problems. The easiest way of doing this is to restore the factory settings (see above in the article on how to do this).

    If that doesn’t work, try update your firmware. Other than that, all you can do is to return the phone and hope the warranty’s still valid I think. GL! Smiley

    I done tthe firmware upgrade myself using NSS, on Windows Vista (home premium), and it worked totally OK.  My N95 is now totally stable, unlike when it had vodacrap hobbled branded v11 firmware, where it would frequently lock and reboot.

    Thanks Sam and Dario. I had the same problem where it wouldn’t flash (after about 5-10% it would say “phone recovery”). It was because I had plugged the phone into the USB port in my monitor. Plugging it directly into the computer sorted it.

Backed up everything using PC Suite, upgraded, restored. But for some reason it’s not able to restore my text messages.     Ya they did get deleted but I backed everything up on my PC before running the update. When I ran the backup, the log showed no error so I know that my messages did get backed up. But after the update when I tried to restore the data, there was an error message saying text messages haven’t been restored! Is there any other way to retreive them from the backup file on the PC?

    Ok… I see Roshi. I guess you’re using the N95. Did you back up to your memory card or PC? The restore function is not waterproff and has a tendency to fail sometimes. Thus, you should/could try two things here:

    1. Do the restore process once again! Several users reports that it works just fine the second time.

    2. If you browse to the message box in your Nokia phone browser you can copy the messages to your hard disk. This creates .vmg files which can be viewed with any text viewer such as notepad etc.

    They’ll look something like this:

    Yes I recommend you change it back. Because you never now if it will break or if you’ll drop it in the toilet (like I did with my N95 classic).

    If it does, you’ll want to use the warranty and that won’t be possible with the new product code.

    I have a serious problem with my N95, and you all seem very knowledgable about fixing issues (especially Dario) so perhaps you can assist me in my situation: About a month ago my phone started acting weirdly, where it would go to the dialled calls on its own and call, or if I went to the contacts it would call the first number available. It also starts sending texts when I am trying to send one without allowing me to finish, sometimes completely empty. All the while it makes the beeping sounds, as if I am pressing buttons when infact I have not pressed anything. I have the N95 Asian phone, which I ordered off of Ebay. Firmware version 12.0.013 i believe, N95-1, and PC 0548986. I went to India with it and had no problems, but since returning I’ve just had these problems. Does anyone have any idea what I can do, or why this is happening. I took it to the repair shop (techie couldn’t fix it) and I also upgraded the phone to the newest firmware about a week ago (using NSU), for the fourth time, but it still has the problems. Hard reset maybe 5 times as well. HELP!!

    Hi Alexa… Hate to say this but you sure seem to have a serious problem. I’ve never heard of anything like that and my intial guess was this might be a virus or malware or some kind.

    Why do you have an Asian phone when you live in Massachusetts? Anyway I would contact Nokia’s customer service (they are great!) or one of the Nokia Flagship Stores in NYC or Chicago. You’ll find more info on the Flagship Stores at

    Thanks for your fast response. I’ve already contacted the Nokia flagship stores, and NYC said I could come down and they’d “take a look”. Although, the man told me technically, since it’s not a US version, he isn’t really supposed to even look/help me. I’ve also contacted Nokia Asia (India, China, Hong Kong) and haven’t got much help because they keep referring me back to Nokia US because I’m here in the US…:-( I am going to do one last ditch attempt, and perhaps update my firmware to 12.0.0.14. Perhaps that will fix it…although I doubt it. BTW..how do you know I live in Massachusetts? Ok, thanks for your help..and I’ll def post on the forum.

    The people at the Nokia Flagship stores are very helpful and I’m sure they’ll do their best to help you out. How long have you had the phone? If you haven’t changed anything that voids the warranty you could try to change it in for another phone. As we speak I’ve received rumors about a new firmware v.20 for the N95 classic - might be worth to try. I’ll write a post on that later today.

    I purchased late June and recieved early July. Do you know who I should contact in regards to changing my phone, I’ve emailed Nokia Asia (India, Hong Kong, China) and they all referred me to Nokia USA. When calling Nokia USA they say it’s not a US version and they don’t have any assistance for me. My product code is 0548986 and it’s a Nokia N95-1, RM-1. I changed the product code using your information on the site and updated to the newest firmware, 12.0.014. I then changed it back to the original product code but the problem is still there. Is my warranty voided?

    Hi Ray. I hate to break the news but the ‘N95′ you have with product code 0518686 RM-17 is a fake copy… It probably says ‘Made by Nokia’ on it, not ‘Made in Finland’ or ‘Made in China’. Did you buy this item on eBay? Try to get your money back as soon as possible!

    I doubt the Swedish branded edition has a different hardware. Considering the Swedish market is relatively small it would be quite an expensive customization for Nokia for no apparent reason.

    However Jaan, as I’ve mentioned earlier, you do all upgrades on your own risk, thus you should consider if you really want to make the upgrade.

    You also know that if you do a lets say EURO1 upgrade, you’ll lose the Swedish menus and Swedish in the T9 application.
