@jon,

I know these 2 G-series are meant to be entry level UIQ smartphones. I'm not complaining about that. What I am worried is that these are build on nothing new. What's wrong with having new technologies inside our smartphones? For example, G700 & G900 both have touchscreen which are good but they dont have accelerometer. You dont have to be a tech-freak to appreciate the usefulness of an accelerometer sensor where you can just tilt the device and the screen orientation will change. This is very useful not only for browsing the net but for viewing documents, scrolling spreadsheets and lots more.

An entry level smartphone does not have to be boring. If Sony Ericsson do really want to give the best to their potential customers, they can pack newer hardwares so users can feel the worth of their devices.

I'm not saying all these are bad, I just expressed my concerns.

If Sony Ericsson really want to push UIQ forward, new devices (plural) with more innovative technologies should be offered. I'm not talking about the price, it's cool that UIQ phones can now be offered at a lower price but a little more advanced hardware would be nice ;-)

We are waiting for the "BeiBei" and "Paris" announcement which will be done anytime now. Until they are confirmed, what can we do? ;-)

Appreciate your comments. Keep them coming! :-)

think you missed the point...these are ENTRY LEVEL uiq smartphones, that can be easily used just with a dpad, but also have a touch screen...

they are not meant to push uiq technologicaly, although g900 does have a new processor, 5mp camera, wifi b+g, that does exist on the p1

do you know what is the estimated price for g900??? freaking 320 euros!!! and g700 270 euros, cheapest uiq phone ever! this will put uiq in mainstream

at the same time, high end UIQ stuf is also coming, and there you will find the top specs you want, but highly priced
