After waiting for years, Sony Ericsson UIQ 3 users can now rejoice because a major upgrade for the built-in office application is just been released. The new version 4.0, according to the developer, is many steps forward in the right direction. Taking the experience from developing the S60 3rd Edition Quickoffice, they added many new features like advanced editing, multiple views and a lot more. Oh, and Quickmanager is included too! You know… that application which can download new version and updates as well as other applications… Read on for the full press release.

New N95 firmware v21 on the horizon?

Our friends at Symbian-Freak managed to get the change log for the new Nokia N95 Classic firmware and boy oh boy! I am excited to see Flash Light 3 and Widget Runtime are included. Meaning, you can watch not only Youtube, but also any other flash videos from other websites. The Web Runtime is also a nice addition because it opens the possibilities to a wealth of applications built on top of the runtime. Read the changelog after the break.

Stavros the genius!

Stavros World Canvas

Imagine the land where you step your foot becomes the canvas for your art (or whatever you call it)! For Stavros, it is not an imagination but he is doing it as we speak now. In his attempt to create the “the world’s greatest art ever“,  a Nokia N82 is used as a “brush” dangling on his neck, and the canvas is Italy. Calling himself as the master of Position Art, he is now doing something really unorthodox and should spark something really creative. Join Stavros in his quest at http://www.theworldismycanvas.com

Mobitubia updated!

mobitubia.jpeg

My favourite YouTube application for S60 3rd Edition has received some make-ups recently. According to the developer, Sittiphol Phanvilai, Mobitubia version 1.76 build 4 is an update in the right direction which fixes “Video Not Found” error, as well as a new splash image when you start the application and also, the SIS installer file has been reduced to only 175KB (compared to 200KB ++ in the previous versions). The new version also has been tested on a variety of S60 3rd Edition smartphones like the N95, E65, E61i etc. Head over to the official website to download the SIS file. In my opinion, Mobitubia offers rich user experience and it’s fun to use.

This Polish veteran Symbian developer always impresses me with their innovative solutions. For example, GSync is my preferred way to archive my SMS for my later reference. PsiLoc has announced  the availability of a new application called BlueText. “Blue Text is the fastest and most straight forward way to use text messaging. All you need in addition to your phone is a PC with Bluetooth. From the moment you install Blue Text, you will be able to text directly from your PC without having to pull out your phone. Just make sure the device is within Bluetooth range of your PC” Neat! More informationa about the product can be found from the official website.
