UIQ Technology announces Chairman of the Board

Ronneby, Sweden, 14 May 2008 - UIQ Technology today announced that Dr. Colin Tucker has been appointed to the role of Non-Executive Independent Chairman of the Board of Directors of UIQ Technology. To promote the success of UIQ Technology, Dr. Tucker will, in addition to his role as chairman, serve as a principal advisor and, together with the other Board members, continuously assess the company’s financial standing and constructively challenge and contribute to its strategic development.

Dr Colin Tucker has amongst a number of other positions served as Chief Technology Officer and Group Director International of Orange Plc, Executive Director to the Board of Orange Plc, Managing Director 3 UK and Deputy Chairman of Hutchison 3G and was listed by the Financial Times as one of the eight key people to know in the Telecommunications sector.

Other directors of the UIQ Technology Board are Rob Shaddock and Alain Mutricy from Motorola and Ulf Persson and Mats Lindoff from Sony Ericsson.

 DreamSpring Releases Touch Friendly Version of DreamConnect 3

Gold Coast, Australia, 13 May 2008 - DreamSpring announced the availability of DreamConnect 3 v3.60, a touch friendly version and upgrade of the award-winning contact manager for Symbian UIQ 3 smartphone users.

Users can simply swipe their finger or thumb either to the left or right to scroll through contact details or up and down to scroll through the contact list. On the upcoming Sony Ericsson G700 and G900, this even takes advantage of their accelerated scrolling feature.

AfterCall application performs various actions after call ends. You can quickly send SMS, MMS or E-mail messages right after your call. Without unnecessary movements you can make a new note, calendar meeting or task.

If you get a call from a new number, you can add this number to your contact list or update existing contact info right after the conversation, without entering the call list once again.

Opera Mini 4.1 Final!

After weeks of beta testing, the final version of Opera Mini 4.1 is now available for download. According to the Official Opera Mini Blog, since the beta there are more than 150 changes to fix various issues and to ensure that it will run as well as possible on your device. And here is the release statement from the team :

There are no big differences from the beta, but there are a lot of things that have happened behind the surface:
- We have fixed a lot of bugs
- Minor changes to saving pages
- Several adjustments to auto-complete address input and upload/download
- BlackBerry devices with old firmware now get Opera Mini 4.1 without JSR-75.

Papyrus for S60 hits version 1.4
