CommunicAsia 2008 Exclusive – Garmin
July 4, 2008 by Asri al-Baker
Phew… the last couple of days are very busy for me. And with the news about Symbian Foundation, the Symbian world seems to be less interesting. But let’s leave that behind and continue our lives as usual shall we? During my visit to CommunicAsia 2008 in Singapore in the last 2 weeks, I found Garmin’s booth which showed some interesting offers from them. Also in display is the latest version of Garmin Mobile XT for UIQ 3 version 4.20. You can take a look in the video above that it is a different version compareed to the one available at the moment (version 4.10.80).

Another thing that captured my eyes was the nuvifon. Which is Garmin’s entry into the touch-screen phone market. For a geek, the nuvifon looks attractive and the user interface is well… took a lot of nods to the iPhone. The special effects, the transition etc. But the most important function is of course, the satnav bundle inside the phone. I did not test the satnav function because we are inside building but for your eyes’ feasts, here is the nuvifon in action. Err.. it’s not a Symbian smartphone but it is cool!
