Ovi Sync now officially available
August 29, 2008 by Asri al-Baker
I dont understand why Nokia is having My Nokia Backup as well as Ovi Sync because these 2 services are the same. In theory, users can synchronize their calendar, tasks and notes to Nokia’s server. And both services can do that. What’s the fuss? Well, I dont know how to say this but Ovi Sync uses your Nokia Account username to login. Which is available for free. However, after a few hours, I still have not received my text message from Ovi to setup my E90. So here goes another wait…
AllAboutSymbian did a nice job wrapping up this new service (it screams BETA! all over the place). However, on the positive side, in my opinion, Nokia is starting to show it’s serious about being an internet company rather than a traditional phone manufacturer. Ovi Sync is an alternative to Apple’s Me service. There’s a lot to be improved here.
