Adaptxt – the intelligent text entry for S60 in beta now

Our S60 3rd Edition smartphones come with a built-in predictive text input which is always referred to as T9. If there’s a BETTER solution out there, would you want to ditch T9 and use the new solution? The answer for me is definitely a BIG YES! Here comes Adaptxt, now in beta for S60 3rd Edition. It is available for public testing (90 days period) from the developer’s website. And frankly, after using Adaptxt, the built-in T9 feels soooooo yesteryears! It’s a language solution, not just a predictive text input…. Give it a try will ya!

Adaptxt, the intelligent language input solution is available as a Beta Release for Nokia S60 smartphones (except the E61 and E61i). Adaptxt Beta supports the native applications including email and text message clients and J2ME apps on these Nokia E-Series and N-Series mobiles.

Adaptxt brings an array of new features which allows you to enter data easily and efficiently. Working across email and text messaging, Adaptxt rapidly personalises itself to the user’s writing traits. Suggestions can be adopted at anytime so word completion, next word insertion and phrase insertion are available to the user.

Adaptxt can “learn” the files you write and read. New words are added to your Personal Dictionary plus the language intelligence i.e. how these words are used. Watch the video below to see Adaptxt quickly learn a file and then suggest new words intelligently.

Please note that Adaptxt Beta for S60 only supports English. Other languages are in development. Registered users will be notified when new langages are available.

Scans your History
Choose to scan existing documents and Emails to personalize Adaptxt to your use of language. This process stores all context, grammar, and semantic information in a personal database. The personal dictionary updates with any new words found.

Expand and Contracts SMS
Adaptxt expands and contracts SMS (Short Message Service) format. Write with fuller vocabulary and convert to SMS for sending.

Customizable Low Profile Design
Adaptxt is unobtrusive. Configure font size, number of phrase suggestions, languages, and more. Choose to place the suggestion boxes anywhere on your screen, or dock them with the Adaptxt soft keyboard.

Statistics Viewer
Adaptxt displays your data input statistics for each session. It can display percentage of, keystrokes saved, non-predicted words, and insertions of words and phrases.

Rapid Personalization
Adaptxt learns as you type and can extract language intelligence from emails and text messages you are viewing

To adopt words, just highlight and click right with the joystick. No instructions or user training needed

Adopting words with Adaptxt
You can be a multi-tapper or maybe you prefer writing in predictive mode. Either way, you can complete words, add the next word, add part of a phrase or add an entire phrase.
