Sony Ericsson’s K850 features accelerometer
November 13, 2007
Accelerometers are hot these days. They make our smartphones even smarter by being able to tell how the user is moving and tilting the device, much like Nintendo’s Wii remote. I’m impressed about the fact that Sony Ericsson picked up on this trend so fast and incorporated a accelerometer in their non-Symbian device K850. It’s slow though…very slow! Watch the video below and judge yourself.

Turkish Rambo, because I need some morning entertainment
November 8, 2007
Youtube is so full of it and we all love it
This clip is so bad it’s good. I present the climax of a low-budget Turkish version of Rambo, complete with awful editing, ripped off score, and a RPG that ‘falls’ out when it’s fired at the enemy.
The future of mobile User Interfaces and the post iPhone era?
September 17, 2007
Apple’s iPhone is one of most popular gadgets on the Net right now and recently the company announced they’ve sold one million iPhones in 74 days. Apple did no sell so good because of a really good high-tech device, but because of good marketing and a new, fresh and cool user interface. Today I’m going to discuss user interfaces, why the iPhone has been so successful and what we all can learn studying their marketing strategies.
The iPhone
The iPhone has never been a groundbreaking device looking at the hardware. Apple’s intention was never to create a high-end device, but to take the iPod one step further giving it phone functionality. Apple wanted something extra when introducing the iPhone, and this extra little thing came to be a intuitive user interface. Apple has used this tactics before and it helps them immediately break in to the Apple has sold over 100 million iPod devices the last 6 years, and has today 68% overall market share of all digital music players.

Apple intends to do even better with the iPhone, or as Mr. Jobs once said, Apple is aiming to sell about 10 million iPhones through the end of 2008.
The iPhone, tough build but will it blend?
July 14, 2007
I would love to blend a Nokia N95, not because it’s a bad phone, but just for the sake of doing it. This will probably never become reality since I didn’t even receive one to review. Here’s a guy blending the iPhone, producing some iSmoke
Enjoy, I know I did.
the iPhone – “A guided tour” or “Why you shouldn’t buy one”
June 24, 2007
Apple published a video featuring a 25-minute guided tour of the iPhone. I must say I’m amazed on how basic this phone operates, of course Apple promotes this product as if it would be groundbreaking, but is it really?
Let’s start with pointing out the good stuff with this phone. It has a very cool multi-touch screen and a user friendly operating system. The multi-touch screen (which basically is a normal touch screen but with the ability to handle multiple “finger touches”) is something we’ll see in many devices in the coming years, in fact MT-screens will be available in most high-end phones & PDA’s next year. Apple has, as always worked alot with the intuitive OS and they’ve actually come up with some cool features (watch the movie below to get my point) which I’m sure the industry will try to copy. It’s a great phone if all you want to do is making calls and listening to music.
iPhone is a revolutionary product and combines three products into one:
- It’s a great mobile phone
- The best iPod we’ve ever created
- and it delivers the internet in your pocket with the best e-mail, web browsing, search and maps applications EVER on a mobile phone
